What is ScheduleSoft?

ScheduleSoft is readily adaptable to a wide range of shift-based work environments containing anywhere from handful of employees to tens of thousands. ScheduleSoft is widely used in production facilities, hotels, hospitals, retail stores, transportation companies, custodial facilities, law enforcement, fire departments, emergency crews, restaurants, phone and utility companies, and TV and Radio stations.

ScheduleSoft works like your chief staffing assistant, it gathers up this information by conducting an interview and storing all the vital information needed to furnish answers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. ScheduleSoft uses mandates such as shift demand, minimum time between shifts, seasonal demands, seniority, shift preferences, and other factors specified by the scheduler. ScheduleSoft can schedule by the day, week, month, or year. It can also schedule by department, group or employee. On the other hand with ScheduleSoft, you can set aside private time for employees such as medical appointments, child-care responsibilities, and special events.

One interesting feature is the Internet Upload Utility. Using this utility, you can upload your schedule to the Internet and let all employees review their work shifts from their home computers. 

How ScheduleSoft Works?

ScheduleSoft is an easy to learn and operate software. The package comes with a demo and tutorial, a step-by-step illustrated user's guide, and on-line help. When you start building your work schedule, ScheduleSoft will lead your work using interviews, an step-by-step data collection wizard to speed up your implementation and minimize data entry errors.

To adapt itself to the rules of your business, ScheduleSoft gathers the following type of information:

• Patterns and Preferences - From standard work weeks to complex department-wide or individual availability patterns.

• Shifts - Displaying for either standard hours worked or non-duty assignments, such as vacation, sick leave, or training. Shift Rotations allow groups of employees to rotate shifts assignments by calendar, pay period, or any user-assigned period.

• Coverage - Specified by shift and post - minimum, optimal and maximum coverage. Posts allow for coverage specified areas or duties within shifts with uniquely tailored requirements for each post.

• Overtime - Tracking and assignment by shifts, hours, and user-defined accounting codes.

• Off Time - For each employee, allows you to set accrual rates and balances for vacation and sick time as well as unlimited user-defined leave types.

• Seasonal Demands - Checking for special days of the year such as holidays, a selected group of days, or an entire date range.

• Custom Information - Up to 3 custom information fields.

Inquiries and Reporting

ScheduleSoft offers 10 basic reports than can be viewed on the screen or printed on different sizes of papers. You can select the content you wish to display in these reports by responding to prompt dialogues that pop up when you select a report type from the menu. Here're the reports you can generate with ScheduleSoft:

• Monthly Department Report - Provides a work schedule by department that displays all shift assignments.

• Individual Report - Displays a selected worker's shift assignments for a specified month, with highlighted listings for any scheduled overtime.

• Active Shift Report - Lists the person on duty and the start and end times of currently active shifts by shift type and department.

• Roll-Call Report - Lists the daily shift assignments for all employees.

• Work Summary - Provides payroll reporting of hours and shifts worked, with listings by employees and time period.

• Employee Information Report - Provides selected personnel data for a specified employee.

• Accounting Code Report - Lists overtime by accounting code for a specified time and department.

• Post Report - Lists post assignment by day or by shift.

• Problem Day Report - Lists days in the schedule having unresolved worker assignments.

• Leave and Overtime Tracking Report - Lists occasions when a selected employee was on leave or worked overtime.

• Monthly Shift Assignments - Displays all assignments for the month by shift and then by employee as an alternative to seeing all monthly assignments together without preference to the shift.

• Log Report - Records any changes made to the schedule such as the date, including the reason for the change and who made it.

Security Features

ScheduleSoft provides a variety of standard and custom features for preventing unauthorized access to and backing up your data. The security utility limits access by user classification, such as read-only user, administrator, etc. Automatic Backup continuously protects data against system and network failures, and data archiving keeps past schedules in secure storage for long-term record keeping.

Compatibility

ScheduleSoft works on a single-user workstation as well as on Local Area Networks or on a Wide Area Network within your organization. ScheduleSoft supports Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, and ORACLE (ScheduleSoft Enterprise edition) relational databases. ScheduleSoft supports Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows NT LAN and WAN.
